Paul Hill, Derwent Valley Mills, 1974

It’s not unusual for people to think that a photograph is just a record of a fleeting moment in time. But photography can do so much more than just record things, photography is an art form with the power to express ideas and emotions, and tell wonderful stories. This concept is forefront in TIMEFRAME, a photography workshop run by myself and Paul Hill. Commencing in May 2025 and continuing through to August, the workshop explores the rich and absorbing theme of TIME.

The workshop is designed to support you in developing a new or ongoing project. And there is no limit to how you might explore the theme, from traditional dark-room prints to book making, collage, moving imagery and even installations.

A Hybrid Workshop

Designed as a three part programme and delivered over three months, TIMEFRAME is a hybrid workshop made up of live and online components. We open with an inspirational weekend at the historic Cromford Mills, move on to = a series of group and 1-2-1  online sessions and return for a final weekend at the Mills. The final day includes a pop up exhibition at Cromford Mills that is open to the public.

We ran this workshop for the first time last year and it really was a huge success. The participants came from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience levels but they all worked together to help each other reach their goals and the group produced a fabulous exhibition.

There are no rules, just creative energy!  Come along and join a group of like-minded photographers and immerse yourself in this fascinating theme.

It really is gong to be a wonderful creative experience.
